  Evaluation

Evaluation involves the application of principles, theories and research related to the four subdomains of problem analysis, criterion referenced measurement, formative and summative evaluation, and long-range planning. The projects in this section demonstrate my ability to analyze data and use criterion referenced data for evaluation of instruction and learning which are critical components the evaluation process.

The SOAP project was completed during EDIT 221:Research Seminar in Instructional Technology. This evaluation looks at the effect of two different sets of curriculum on learning. The report includes an analysis of descriptive statistical data and other criterion referenced measurements in order to determine learner mastery of content. Relevant data is presented in tables and figures and was used to form an analysis of the two curriculum programs.

The OCC project provides a literature review of Communities of Practice and uses a survey to determine the effectiveness of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Online Curriculum Center (OCC) posting system for teacher created resources and looks at the impact of collaboration within the IB. To meet this goal, 25 teacher created resources from the OCC were identified and surveyed in order to collect data. An interpretation of this data was conducted and the results were analyzed to determine the overall effectiveness of the resources. This evaluation will help in making decisions regarding utlilization of the OCC.
